Current Project: Netflix Clone
Lingjun Song and I are currently expanding our FullStack development skills by building a cloud-hosted video streaming platform. We currently have the Frontend portion running and are hoping to expand into Backend development later in the month!
Technologies Used: JavaScript, React, Node.js, Firebase, CSS, Axios
Challenges: Implementing dynamic movie rows with scrolling functionality, integrating with TMDB API for real-time updates, and managing video playback to ensure trailers play correctly.
Unique Features: Interactive movie rows that update based on popularity and critical acclaim, click-to-play movie trailers, real-time data fetching with Firebase Firestore, and responsive design for an engaging user experience.
Future Additions: Future plans for this project include adding backend functionality such as user authentication, watchlist management, and personalized profile features. Additional Frontend development will involve carousels of assets and possible title additions to all movies/shows in each row.
